Steven is the creator & composer for the genre-bending project "Wrong Turns & Whiskey." Within the project's lore, he is known as Frankie, the quiet "center of gravity" for the band. He writes the songs, plays bass, and builds the musical foundation. Beyond the persona, Steven is driven by profound, lifelong radical empathy — a trait his father actively taught him. This bleeds directly into his songwriting. A musician & songwriter since 1986, he penned his first tracks at 17. His musical DNA is a collision of 70s & 80s classic & progressive rock, 90s alternative, and the gritty roots of Texas Blues & Gothic Americana. He balances creative output with a tech career, which informs his production methods. Using modern AI audio platforms as elite session musicians to generate stems, he then surgically arranges, scores, and masters the tracks, pushing the boundaries of AI-driven arrangement & modern digital orchestration while keeping the soul of the music undeniably human.
