SYAKKAY is the stage name of Syakir Shamsudin, a Singaporean singer/songwriter. Born and raised in Singapore on 20 July 1994. Being exposed to different genres of music when he was young, he taught himself to sing. He listened to various kinds of music such as pop, jazz, soul, and RnB. He got his musical influence from watching music performances, being in a concert band in a secondary school that excels in the Performing Arts, and was also part of a show choir when he was pursuing tertiary education where he was also trained to sing professionally. From the multiple performances he was involved in, he gained more experience and exposure to the music world. With the progress of the digital world, he utilized to upload song covers from the age of 17 years old. Before being a verified artist on Spotify, he used other digital platforms such as SoundCloud and YouTube. Now his music is available on all of the main digital streaming platforms including Apple Music, Instagram, and TikTok.
