The Disagio are formed by three old friends Paul Turroni (vocals and guitar), Joe Modanese (lead guitar) and Al Fornari (bass, drums and vocals) for post-depressive therapeutic purposes.
After a few appearances as a cover band in the parishes of the neighborhood, they decide to devote themselves to a new creative process. Their first single, a self-produced statement recorded at the Atomic Studios in Longiano, it’s a melting pot of genres which has its roots in 80s pop-rock, brit pop and 90s grunge, with influences from folk and Italian songwriting.
Released immediately after the Romagna floods of 2023, the single is not critically acclaimed and does not leap to the top of the charts. However, the band will comment: “nevertheless, we changed the course of music”.
