tralfaz is the brainchild of Keith R. Prandy (AKA travisTnastee) who was born in Baltimore and grew up in the DC suburb of Bowie, MD. tralfaz is heavily influenced by the bands of that area like Clutch, Fugazi, Jawbox, Bad Brains, Onespot Fringehead, and the Pee-Tanks. Prandy began playing guitar at age 12 and soon found his calling as a bass player a few years later. He was mesmerized by the intoxicating low end of players like Les Claypool, Cliff Burton, Geddy Lee, Flea, and Robert Trujillo. It is easy to see why most tralfaz songs are written around the bass line. Prandy relocated to Atlanta in 1997 and tralfaz was born. While this one man band has a large leaning towards metal, it pulls influences from jazz, classical, lounge, ska, funk, psychedelia, and the surreal. Many of the songs are instrumentals.
