These songs are a collaboration between my husband and me, born from a deeply personal purpose. What started as us writing songs to each other became a way for me to find my center during manic episodes. Living with bipolar disorder can sometimes make it difficult to hold onto a clear sense of who I am, what I’ve experienced, and what is real to me. Through these songs, we turn our experiences, memories, struggles, and conversations into something I can return to. They help me remember myself when my mind feels like it’s moving too quickly, and they give my husband a way to reach me through something we created together. What began as songs between the two of us eventually grew beyond one episode or one moment. I began writing through other manic experiences, turning the things I was feeling and processing into music.
