כנסיית השכל
Knesiyat Hasekhel (Church of Reason) is an Israeli rock band from Sderot, Israel. Their name is a translation into Hebrew of Church of Reason, from Robert Pirsig's book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The band has existed since the early 1990s (1989), and has been one of Sderot's many musical messengers (along with Tipp-ex (טיפקס) and Sfatayim). One of its best-publicized efforts was a collaboration with Zehava Ben (זהבה בן).

Always tried to Hide
iF YOU LIKE GREAT, IF NOT ALL IS GOOD ;-) Translated: I always tried to hide it, I never knew how to explain. You saw me sink so low, and you waited for me up high. I always tried to hold it in, so no one would see how nothing fits. When I was happy I lit up the world — but when the darkness came, I would disappear. And maybe this will stay that way forever, but if you stay, hold my hand. Maybe I’ll find a balance between the calm and the storm. How can I dance now, with two voices in my head: one whispering “run,” the other shouting “breathe.” A sleepless night, a morning without prayer, and the silence screams louder than any storm. And maybe this will stay that way forever, but if you stay, hold my hand. Maybe I’ll find a balance between the calm and the storm. And maybe this will stay that way forever, but if you stay, hold my hand. Maybe I’ll find a balance between the calm and the storm. more
