Evulholic

Chicago, IL, USA

Evulholic's musical style reflects a blend of influences from his home in Chicago's Midwest scene and the "Down South" or "Dirty South" genre, especially the sounds prevalent in the 1990s and early 2000s. This combination creates a distinctive style that is both raw and soulful. Midwest influences Lyricism and emotion: The Chicago hip-hop scene, while lacking a single defining sound, is known for its soulful, passionate, and heartfelt approach. Evulholic taps into this tradition by using his lyrics to convey themes of pain and struggle, giving his music an emotional depth similar to prominent Chicago artists like Common and Kanye West. Lyrical skill: The Midwest gave rise to "chopper" rap, a fast-paced lyrical style popularized by artists such as Chicago's Twista and Cleveland's Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. This emphasis on technical rapping ability is a hallmark of Midwest hip-hop and can be heard in Evulholic's precise and intricate lyrical delivery.
