Some songs come from imagination. Some come from pain. And some come from simply looking around at your life and realizing how blessed you are. “Still Here With You” came from that realization. My wife and I were high school sweethearts. Life eventually took us in different directions, and we spent roughly 30 years apart. A lot can happen in three decades. There were difficult seasons, painful lessons, mistakes, growth, and experiences that changed both of us. But somehow, after all those years, our paths came back together. And now, when I look at the life we’re building together, I find myself looking backward just as much as I’m looking forward. I look at the old photographs. I remember the young people we were. I remember the roads we traveled, the things we survived, the moments that almost broke us, and the moments that made us stronger. That’s where this song came from.
