Born on the island of Bali in the city of Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia in 2003, Joey Alexander first encountered a piano at the age of six, and was immediately able to pick out the melody of Thelonious Monk's "Well, You Needn't" and other jazz standards from his father's record collection by ear. My Late Valentine
This is a song that I wrote with my friends Lexi and Dania. It's a 70s style disco funk song that I had recorded with a live rhythm section, vocals, and 4-part horn section at Tempest Recordings Studios in Tempe, Arizona. It tells a tale of a couple meeting and falling in love. They would love to be each other's valentine's but realize that they're late valentines. Eventually, they do ask each other out and it has a good ending! I hope you all love this song!!more
