The Modern Lovers were an American rock band led by Jonathan Richman in the 1970s and 1980s.
The original band, billed simply as "The Modern Lovers", existed from 1970–74 but their recordings were not released until 1976 or later. It featured Jonathan Richman and bassist Ernie Brooks with drummer David Robinson (later of The Cars) and keyboardist Jerry Harrison (later of Talking Heads). The sound of the band owed a great deal to the influence of The Velvet Underground, and is now considered one of the leading bands of the "proto-punk" scene.

City of Angels
Here is another one of those John Hughes soundtrack wanabees
This one is a bit more cinematic.
Created from start to finish with my brain, my voice and my fingers, no AI was used during the creation of this track (except the artwork, because I want to concentrate on the music, not the art)

Lost in the moment
Classic synthwave track which hopefully sounds like it is from one of those John Hughes movies.

Ghost of myself
This is a track from my forthcoming Darksynth album - Noir Synthetek (A listeners guide to the modern world) it is a concept album about the very dangerous modern world and covers several topics that are very relevant today.
This track is entitled "Ghost of myself" and is a through-the-lens biopic of a soldier coming back from the frontline, changed forever by the ravages of war, regret, anger, and most importantly life-changing. The experience of broken promises, being hidden away and left behind by the country your friends have died for, and all that is left is a ghost of myself.more
