“roots” was written based on my personal fear of allowing someone love me - while I'm still in the process of healing from deep-rooted, past hurt. It explores the desire (along with the fear) to be deeply known and seen through the lens of someone who admires you. Using the imagery of and a garden, the song is ultimately about vulnerability and the realisation that your depth doesn’t make you "too much" and your wounds do not make you "not enough". To embrace your depth is truly beautiful.more

Dropping a new song every month! Enjoy February's I promised that one day I’d write you back You know I don’t go back on any promises But I promise this time That I don’t know what to write I don’t know how to add to this fairytale This world so perfect I know it can’t be real But I know that we’ll Finally get this right And I can’t close out this chapter I’ll go back and read it again I don’t wanna be “happily ever after” ‘Cause right after that comes “the end” I’ll read you like a storybook Watch you like a movie I’ll never get bored of you ‘Cause you’re my favorite story If you were a rerun I’d watch you a million times I’ll write another song for you If it would help you know me We’ll sit together in your car You’ll never feel too lonely If you were my story I’d tell you a million times I don’t think that I’ll ever get it back The heart that you stole from me All those years ago And I don’t think I Would want it if I could And I can’t close out this chapter I’ll go back and read it again I don’t wanna be “happily ever after” ‘Cause right after that comes “the end” I’ll read you like a storybook Watch you like a movie I’ll never get bored of you ‘Cause you’re my favorite story If you were a rerun I’d watch you a million times I’ll write another song for you If it would help you know me We’ll sit together in your car You’ll never feel too lonely If you were my story I’d tell you a million times I’d tell you a million times I’d tell you a million times I’ll tell you a million times - Mastered by mixea.commore
