Ran For Your Rain
Does this ever happen to you? You end up playing the rescuer without ever really deciding to. . Someone gets caught in the rain and suddenly you're already running toward them with an umbrella, a towel and, apparently, an entire emergency response team. . It's exhausting. . Not because you don't want to help. But because sometimes you know you shouldn't... and you still can't stop yourself. . And then there's something even more uncomfortable to realize: sometimes the other person only becomes the victim because, somewhere along the way, we decided to become their rescuer. If we keep running into their rain for them, we might eventually teach them that they can't face it on their own. . I think that's the part I've struggled with the most. Understanding that caring about someone doesn't mean I have to run every time it rains. . "Ran for Your Rain" is about that. . ============================ . [VERSE] Every night the ceiling cried You'd be standing in the rain I'd keep buckets by my side Just to catch your flood again [PRE-CHORUS] I kept wondering why you never closed the window Why the storm knew exactly where to come . [CHORUS] ... . [VERSE] You'd leave footprints through the hallway I'd be down there on my knees Drying rivers from the floorboards While you shivered in the sheets . [PRE-CHORUS] I blamed the clouds above your head Then stayed awake beside your bed . [CHORUS] ... . [VERSE] Then one morning there was sunlight Not a raindrop on the glass Still I reached beneath the sink For the bucket like I always had . [PRE-CHORUS] That's when I saw my fingerprints . [CHORUS] I ran each time it started raining Like you were the only one who could drown I ran each time it started raining I kept you dry instead of letting you learn the rain . [PRE-CHORUS] I thought I came to stop the flood I never learned to close the window . CHORUS] I ran each time it started raining Like you were the only one who could drown I ran each time it started raining I kept you dry instead of letting you learn the rain ... Like you were the only one who could drown Like you were the only one who could drown Like you were the only one who could drown Like you were the only one who could drown more

Bleed in Public (Acoustic)
My thoughts on social media. Enjoy, E- Everybody wants a way out Nobody wants to die alone So we learned to bleed in public Just to feel like we were known She cried into the dashboard light Uploaded tears before they dried Caption read “I’m healing now” Strangers told her they were proud He wears his sadness like cologne Split pink gums and nicotine lungs Every scar gets photographed Every breakdown cut in half Stay awake Stay online Trade your pulse For dopamine highs Hold still Don’t think twice Your whole worth Lives online We turn our trauma into staged goodbyes Make it pretty for the lonely nights Everybody wants another life Nobody survives the night Pray to the glow of a dead blue screen Spit your guts into a dopamine feed If being broken keeps the numbers high We’ll bleed forever just to stay alive I watched my friends become fake names Perfect teeth and hollow veins Learning how to disappear Just to keep somebody near Every post another prayer “Tell me somebody still cares” Every comment feels like God Till the silence breaks my jaw Stay soft Stay numb Keep singing What they want Don’t unplug Don’t look down Every prayer Feels hollow now We turn our trauma into staged goodbyes Make it pretty for the lonely nights Everybody wants another life Nobody survives the night Pray to the glow of a dead blue screen Spit your guts into a dopamine feed If being broken keeps the numbers high We’ll bleed forever just to stay alive Tell me who I am without the noise Without the pills, the trends, the voice Every room feels colder now Every prayer feels hollow now I scream until my lungs give out Just to drown the silence out But the quiet always comes Plastic halos Hospital eyes Everybody’s famous Everybody lies Perfect bodies Rotting brains We gave our hearts To the machine We sold our sadness for a better view Now every memory comes stitched and used Everybody begs to feel desired Pray to the glow of a dead blue screen Spit your guts into a dopamine feed If nobody knows what truth became Then lies become the faith Everybody wants a way out Nobody wants to die alone So we learned to bleed in public Just to feel like we were knownmore
