These 2 producers, (Comprising of Pablo on bass, Synth, beats and guitar, and Bec on vocals, editing and beats patrol.) employ smart, sassy lyrics, strong melodies and sexy rhythms to craft a cutting-edge electro sound crossing into rock, disco, and psychadelia, but which retains that distinctive BasSPunKy edge. They exploded out of the Melbourne club scene 12 years ago, under their original name Lil Ray Lyford, igniting venues from St Jeromes to Alia and Centriphugal, following an earthshaking set at legendary Melbourne party, Flirt. With their driving, funk-infused bass lines and electric Synths, the two combined to craft one of Melbourne’s most sophisticated electro acts. An eclectic mix of electronica, hip hop, breakbeats and glam/punk/funk that wasn’t afraid to take risks.
