"SIENNA" is a song about being in a relationship with someone, knowing that you're not good for them, but still clinging on to it because of all the love that's still there. This song was recorded in my bedroom "studio" and started off as an idea based on the harmonies I recorded in the choruses. For me, this song symbolises a feeling of something "larger-than-life" and I tried to encompass the vocals with similar sounds and instruments in the production. I hope you'll like it! This song is based loosely on a poem I wrote a couple of years back. It's meant to tell a story - or at least create an atmosphere - through both the lyrics and the production. One of the most challenging vocals I've ever recorded for a track to date, but I hope they're at least palpable! This song is the last of twelve on my new album - but still the most personal and intimate. I’ve drawn inspiration from my own experiences and the aim is to portray the overpowering dread, frustration, shame and guilt that comes with having mental illnesses.
