Ferhat Şimşir was born in Erzincan in 1989 and introduced to music at 13 by his father and grandfather, who played the bağlama. He began formal training in high school and later pursued computer science at Mersin University, but music remained his true calling. Leaving his studies, he dedicated a year to intense training under Mahmut Göksel, working at his music school in exchange for lessons. Accepted into Trakya University’s music program, Ferhat mastered the piano, guitar, bağlama, and both Bb and G clarinets. While studying, he funded his tuition by teaching and performing at bars, hotels, and live venues. After graduating, he founded a music and dance academy in Çerkezköy, where he taught for seven years before passing it on to a new owner. Now in Canada, Ferhat continues his musical journey, bringing classical depth and soulful expression to his performances.
