Ladysmith born producer, songwriter and mix engineer Joey Bangx seamlessly blends rap and R&B, switching between rhyming over trap beats to more melodic singing over smooth, intricate backing tracks. He became known for his emotive, relationship-themed songs such as 2019’s "Murder On Tape," and 2020's "SAD FIRE," both collaborative projects with producer TaylorMadeBeatz. A Distribution deal with Content Connect Africa in 2019 first yielded "As You Are," and "Love Songs," He quickly returned with 2021’s "Cashout," a hot entry on Gagasi Fm’s "Fresh Cut", Ukhozi FM’s "Numba Numba ", and SlikourOnLife’s "Have You Heard" playlist. Having been publicized by SlikourOnLife and Move Hip Hop, Joey went on to release "No Deal" with a music video in the same year which made its debut on MTV Base, and currently on rotation.
