An indie-pop Chinese-Canadian singer-songwriter from Toronto, Katelyn's highlights include appearing on Guangdong Television's "Voice of Cantonese" singing competition, and winning the "Online Most Popular Award" with Fairchild Radio's "Songquest 12, 2019: Chinese Singing Songwriting Competition" with her original song, "Let Us Start." Asides from singing competitions and various cover performances, Katelyn pursues to find her place in music through writing original songs and performing live on Twitch. Through Chinese singing competitions (where she can't read or write the language) and now pursuing her own sound (predominantly in English with Western pop music influences), she's found it difficult to find a happy medium between her two cultures, as documented in RepresentAsian's article, "Too Chinese to be Canadian, Too Canadian to be Chinese." As there were little Asian-Canadian pop artists to look up to, she hopes to become that artist she wish she had growing up.
