Born Jelani Johnson in Washington, DC, Lani Flaze always had a calling for music. His passion for the art had been apparent at an early age. When reflecting on his influences growing up, he credits the talents of superstar artists with unique sounds such as Andre 3000, Gucci Mane, and Snoop Dogg. It wasn’t until 2012 when Lani took his craft more seriously and made a career out of his musical abilities. “I rap because it was so much going on in my life; I needed an outlet to express it all. Rap was my therapy.” The hustle and motivation to make your dreams into a reality is important to Flaze and can be seen as a common theme in his music. Faced with his own adversity, he wants his listeners to be able to hear his music and use it as a conduit for their own triumph. Flaze wants to inspire those around him and who love his music to achieve greatness.

Oops
Oops is a ballad for people who have been overlooked, under-appreciated, and taken for granted. This song is featured on Lani Flaze recently released tape titled, 222 Part 2. The 222 movement started when Lani Flaze was incarcerated and his cell number was 222. Following his release, Flaze was so inspired by the numbers he dropped the debut album 222 in 2018. To follow up, Lani Flaze released 222 Part 2 on 2-22-22, coincidentally the court date where Flaze and his co defendant "Dough" fight their high profile case in Oregon. A crazy and spiritual series of events all told over punchy beats and slick rap. The entire 222 journey is about being on the right path no matter how difficult the road gets. When you see 222 you know God is with you. Just listen and you'll get the gist.more
