Lil mad became a notorious Neighborhood crip gang member in the streets of southeast San Diego. In 2008 Lil mad was shot in head by rival gang members during a shootout in the heart of Neighborhood crip territory. A few months later after healing from his injuries Lil mad, his little brother , and two others were arrested and accused of retaliating by killing one of the rival gang members. This murder led to lil mad leading police on a high-speed chase through the streets of San Diego before he, his lil brother, and 2 others were all caught and arrested on charges of murder, 4 counts of attempted murder, and carjacking! Lil mad was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 21 years in prison. while in prison lil mad educated himself and greatly increased his writing skills which he used towards writing music. Lil mad was unable to record while incarcerated and so was mostly writing for others. But in 2023 (almost 15 years later) lil mad was released!!!
