Mastermind is a new wave fusion pop band whose music blends the catchiness of pop, the nuances of jazz and the modern pulse of electronic music in an excellent way. The band creates a holistic body of work – all songs are combined with a strong emotional background, insightful lyrics and multi-layered production. Jani composes and plays all the instruments and writes the lyrics for most of the songs. The lyrics for the songs are written together and Miss Geist is responsible for arranging the vocal melodies. Mastermind is not skilled at repeating familiar formulas - it tells stories, evokes emotions and creates a world that the listener wants to return to.
