MoiMalafacha

Chicago, IL, USA

Led by frontman, rhythm guitarist, and singer Moises, Malafacha is a driving force in the Chicago ska scene. Founded alongside his brother Ivan Bello (lead guitar) and their uncles Alejandro Cruz (drums) and Ezequiel Cruz (bass), the family migrated from Ecatepec, Estado de México, in the '90s. They pioneered an era of underground Spanish and Spanglish ska in a scene that was once exclusively English. Since 2001, their impact has reached far beyond the stage. As core creators and promoters behind The Chicago Ska Collective, they built a massive DIY movement from the ground up. By organizing legendary underground shows, they established a vital cultural bridge, ultimately promoting and producing major events alongside top-tier bands from across Latin America and the USA. From local basement shows to massive festival stages, Malafacha lives for the live performance, cultural unity, and the global community. Welcome to our journey.
