Afraid to wake up and you’re gone
A song to my fiance who fights canser. When you finally got the help you needed White coats, kind eyes, hands that cared We all believed that this was the moment That hope was more than just a prayer They said the chemo might kill the darkness And if it didn’t, there were more roads to try You even signed up for a study With one clear goal: to survive But after the surgery, after the start Everything fell apart I’m so afraid to wake up and you’re gone Afraid there’s something I forgot to say I know I could’ve done better, been stronger somehow And it keeps me awake every night right now Yeah, I’m so afraid to wake up and you’re gone Now you’re back home after nine long weeks Wires and bandages, nurses every day From where I stand, your world keeps spinning Around family, pain, and finding a way Most people would’ve given up by now But not you, not once, not ever You’re stronger than I ever knew You’re a fighter, through and through I’m so afraid to wake up and you’re gone Afraid of the words I should’ve said all along I know I could’ve done better, been stronger somehow And it keeps me awake every night right now Yeah, I’m so afraid to wake up and you’re gone They say your body’s fighting itself Drowning in something they can’t explain They can’t give you the treatment to stay If they don’t find the source of this pain Worst case, they said it plain We won’t see Christmas together again We broke down, cried together there But somehow you were the one holding me You find your strength in God and His promises You trust His plan, whatever it may be I wish I had the faith you carry If the worst comes true, you’re certain we’ll meet again I’m so afraid… but I’m still here Holding on through the doubt and fear I’m so afraid to wake up and you’re gone But I’ll stay by your side, no matter how long I’m here for you every step of the way I’m not going anywhere, I’m here to stay Yeah, I’m so afraid to wake up and you’re gone I love you, my Lady M All the way, to the end more

We Used to Love This Country
It speaks of a nation rich in oil but poor in soul, where politicians raise their pay while the old freeze their nights away. People once sang the national anthem with pride — now it doesn’t mean anything. The song asks what’s left to defend when politicians turn the country into something people no longer recognize. When those in power make life hell, why should anyone come to defend it? Lyrics: . . Up on Lionshill they raise their pay, While the old ones freeze their nights away. Nurses fighting, workers tired, Cold at home, their hope expired. And the Shadow Prince lies on TV, Says “our hospitals shine,” can’t you see? But the wards are full, the lights grow dim— Death waits for those not close to him. Tell me what’s left to defend, When truth breaks and no one bends. Flags fade, hearts grow cold, We’re rich in oil but poor in soul. Tell me what’s left to defend, When truth breaks and no one bends. Flags fade, hearts grow cold, We’re rich in oil but poor in soul. Report a crime, they look away, “Sorry, no time, not today.” The press sells fear for clicks and fame, Twisting truth to feed the game. Our cities choke on fear and drugs, The leaders smile, corrupt inside. They call it order, call it peace— While justice fades, the lies increase. Innovation lost its spark, The brightest minds left in the dark. Taxes high, the dream is sold, Freedom rusts, the young grow old. Raise your voice, remember when— We built, we cared, we called it then. We sang “Ja, vi elsker” — once we did, But love’s not what it once has been. Tell me what’s left to defend, When the empire eats its friends. We’re world’s richest, world’s blind, Selling Norway, piece at a time. - Mastered by mixea.commore

They put their trust in us
“They Put Their Trust in Us” is a song about children abuse and the system that fails them again and again. It tells of abuse, silence, and a justice system more concerned with politics than protection. While leaders argue over words like “monster,” children continue to bleed. The song also points to what most refuse to see the link between drugs and human trafficking. Every deal, every “small dose,” feeds the same networks that trade in children’s lives. It’s an angry prayer, a cry for those who cannot speak, and a reminder that silence and ignorance make us complicit. Their little hands still reach…. . . . Lyrics: There’s a market for the lost and young, A price tag placed on every one. Some buy flesh, some buy control, They sell a child, they steal a soul. A mind once pure, now cracked and sold, A life exchanged for greed and gold. We count the cost of war and pain, But never what their hearts contain. Monsters walk in daylight’s skin, Leaders argue “monster” while children bleed. While children cry in silent rooms, The wolves are free, the courts concede. We talk of rights, we talk of pain, But the system’s blind, it stays the same. They put their trust in us, we look away. We preach love, but we let them pay. The smallest hearts, too pure to see— Their little hands still reach for you and me. Rapists walk with lifted chins, Their crimes weigh less than state deceit. While lawyers grin with empty eyes, Counting bloodstained alibis. They say, “defense is just the law,” But justice died in what they saw. They put their trust in us, we look away. We preach love, but we let them pay. The smallest hearts, too pure to see— Their little hands still reach for you and me. They cut the price for every crime, As if her pain had crossed the line. They said her pain was priced too high, And left her shattered, still denied. They lock them up, then set them free, To hurt again, predictably. The law’s a lie, the scars too deep, While justice turns away to sleep. The streets sell dreams, the veins sell death, The cash runs red with a child’s last breath. We legalize the smallest dose, While feeding devils none oppose. If we don’t fight, we take their side. Silence is the same as crime. They are born to trust, to grow— And we are what they learn to know. They put their trust in us, we look away. We hide truth, and call it grey. The smallest hearts, too pure to see— Their little hands still reach for you and me. They put their trust in us, we look away. We hide truth, and call it grey. The smallest hearts, too pure to see— Their little hands still reach They put their trust in us, we look away. We hide truth, and call it grey. The smallest hearts, too pure to see— Their little hands still reach…. - Mastered by mixea.commore
