Roberto Tola is an Italian multi awarded guitarist, composer and Recording Academy's Member. He was born and raised in Sassari, Sardinia Island (Italy). Began playing the guitar when he was just 6 years old. In 1976 studies Cello in the Conservatory of Music in Sassari. Meanwhile continues his studies of Modern and Jazz Guitar and established the sextet JAZZMANIA. From 1989 is member of the Italian “Blue Note Orchestra”, and from 1991 up to 2010 is the official guitar of the Sardinia Jazz Orchestra, also conducted by well known Carla Bley, Bob Mintzer, Colin Towns, Giorgio Gaslini, Bruno Tommaso, Giancarlo Gazzani and others more. In his more than 30 years of life in music, he has also toured, performed and/or recorded with Tom Harrel, Steve Swallow, Eric Marienthal, Andy Sheppard, Norma Winstone, Richard Galliano Shakatak, Jill Saward, Bill McGee, Bob Mintzer, Bill Sharpe, Tim Collins, Najee, Paul Taylor, Paula Atherton, Rocco Ventrella and more.
