This song is really about me stepping back and admitting that I was in awe of someone, but I knew deep down I wasn’t in the right place to love them the way they deserved. It’s me trying to hold space for how special it was while also being honest that if I stayed, I might ruin it. So as much as I didn’t want to let go, I had to.
