Do you fight back? Is there anything in there at all for you? If we fight back too much we can come unstuck and stagnate in denial. It takes time, tenacity, patience, silence. It take a mental workout, a commitment to yourself that you won’t let yourself keep falling. There’s a thin line between ruminating and processing. Sometimes, what feels like rumination eventually, seemingly at random falls through into acceptance, and a place you can move ahead from. It was a knot that just needed a long time to be teased-out. What’s the important thing, always, is to not give up on that effort. We lament. We say to ourselves whatever we can to ourselves to eventually come through.more

Exactly one year ago, I found myself in a difficult place in a lot of different ways. And despite all else, what hurt most of all out of everything was mainly that I felt as if I was failing in two of the most important relationships in my life at the time. I think that we've all felt this way in our lives at some point. That no matter the efforts that we do put in, a simple setback can make us feel as if those efforts have gone unnoticed. We feel unappreciated. We feel like our actions are in vain. This song is that feeling. It's self-deprecation. It's numbness. It's pain. And then it's a revelation, of the emotional layer underneath. A self-belief that we can get out of this cycle. We are enough, we always were. But sometimes love is all we can give, and is all we have. I still haven't released this song on streaming platforms yet, so I'd like to give my fellow musicians here an early listen before it's released on December 23rd.
