I wrote this song back in late 2020 as a fun take on dating someone who knew they had you wrapped around your finger, but you could tell it went both ways. Stubborn love. After some evolution over the years I went for a more modern crossover vibe. more

This song started with the title as a joke, but evolved into an editorial view of dating in the age of social media. Sliding into DMs, swiping, and playing the game of who cares less. Lyrics: [Verse 1] Turn the lights on turn 'em back off but you Already know I won't miss you when you're gone It was only one night only one night so I Don't know what you want from me Won't you leave me alone Once you lay it out you can't take it back And I can't risk that anxiety attack 'cause The game we play isn't close to genuine and I'd rather never start than have to wait for it to end [Chorus] When it's moving way too fast Don't matter you're having a blast Gotta push those feelings back Before they get the best of you So it's time to ghost again Never gonna be more than friends On this week's episode of Carpe DMs... Carpe DMs [Verse 2] It's another another night out but I Don't know what this weekend fuss is all about So I guess you gotta play the game if you're to win And there ain't no better feelin' than her number on a napkin If you fail well you gotta try again but how Am I supposed to put myself together again Give my all foreshadowing my downfall Deja vu is feeling like forever climbing a wall [Chorus] When it's moving way too fast Don't matter you're having a blast Gotta push those feelings back Before they get the best of you So it's time to ghost again Never gonna be more than friends On this week's episode of Carpe DMs... Carpe DMs [Bridge] Turn the Lights on Turn 'em back off Did you leave or were you ever here at all [Drop Chorus & Outro] When it's moving way too fast Don't matter you're having a blast Gotta push those feelings back Before they get the best of you So it's time to ghost again Never gonna be more than friends On this week's episode of Carpe DMs...
