This enthusiastic and optimistic yet easy going artist named Kemar Harrison, popularly known as "Benks Ez Boy" born to Maxine Gardner and Linval on April 5 in Islington, St Mary, developed a deep affection for music after hearing tracks by dancehall moguls Bounty Killer and Buju Banton. Armed with an exceptional talent, unparalleled determination and drive, In 1995 after moving to Waterhouse in Kingston, Benks love and exposure in music increased. Benks talent was first discovered and used in the church due to his Grandmothers’ strict rule that he should attend church every Sunday. He later got baptized and became the lead singer on the Lincoln Kirk United Church Sunday school choir. Benks also formed a Gospel group called the “Young Soldiers for Christ” which performed at various gospel events islandwide.
