Welcome to Saprobes! This is my baby, I nurtured it, I mothered, it was my little baby duck (; Saprobes is an experimental sound and beats album that is meant to be listened to from start to finish. Segue style… I am very excited to be able to share this project and hope that it can be enjoyed by new and experienced listeners and fans of the IDM community, which is huge! So many genres of IDM came to life in this album and you will be able to hear that from beginning to end. I have been so inspired by the sounds of the birds in the morning and the sounds of the frogs at night. It is quite literally music to my ears. Field recording has become a recent hobby of mine since moving back up to northern MN. Incorporating the sounds of nature into this album was the most important part in making it for me. I wanted to make music that I would listen to everyday and I believe I did that. I want this album to represent not only the sounds that nature creates but also the feelings it creates; such as the way the sun feels on your skin for the first time after another rigorous Mn winter. Or the way it feels like to sit and listen to the frogs croak around the pond in the evening while the thunderclouds start to roll in. Just like the weather here in MN, this album is unpredictable on what you will hear next. Saprobes intro starts out right off the bat with night sounds. This track uses field recordings I collected from my backyard (frogs, birds, winds) along with a drum and bass and classic house dance sounds. I liked to imagine myself in the deep northern woods at night when I was making this song, running so I could keep away from the thick swarms of mosquitoes, but enjoying the feeling of the cool breeze caressing my sweaty forehead and the whirring of frogs singing their calls. Night Sounds then segues into ( House of the Rhyza sun ) which begins to set the tone(s) for the rest of the album. more
