Brampton, ON, Canada

Donajay is an independent recording artist and songwriter from Brampton, Ontario—a Canadian city in the Greater Toronto Area. Born in Trinidad, he grew up inspired by Caribbean heavyweights like Bunji Garlin and Machel Montano , developing a natural melodic flow rooted in island energy. After migrating to Canada, Donajay blended his West Indian roots with Toronto’s raw urban sound, drawing influence from artists like Tory Lanez and PARTYNEXTDOOR. Now, he’s carving out his own lane in Trinibad and the dancehall scene, delivering tracks that fuse smooth melodies with gritty street stories— life in the fast lane, the hustle, and life growing up in Trinidad & Tobago. Since dropping his debut single Tidal Wave in 2019, Donajay has evolved into an artist who can set the dance floor on fire one track, and paint vivid street tales the next. His music is a passport to the islands with a Toronto edge—catchy hooks, infectious riddims, and an unfiltered attitude. Follow Donajay on his jo
