I started playing Bass in 1987 and formed my first band soon after. Salem Justice was a thrash outfit and I have great memories of everything we did including 100's of gigs, two UK tours, five demos and an album. We had label interest, magazine coverage, endorsements and a fanbase but stalled and split in 1998. Next was the more experimental Divided By One which lasted until 2003 when I quit music due to personal issues. I came out of retirement in 2008 to join an established band called Tripswitch and the following year my dreams came true when we played Download Festival at the legendary Donington Park. Our set could not have gone better; gaining us new fans and great reviews. That moved our gigs from pubs to clubs supporting bigger bands, but when the rest of the band wanted to change direction in 2012 I declined to continue. When I started writing songs again I decided to go it alone and in 2017 Hertz Horn was born as an identity for my music, releasing debut EP Sentinels in 2019.

Daggers in the Static
Intrigue! Espionage! Spycraft! This song was inspired by cold war era Numbers Stations, which were used up until 2008 to transmit coded messages over shortwave radio. The lyrics are specifically about a broadcast known as The Lincolnshire Poacher. more

Phantom Limb
HH is back with the first of 3 new singles. Phantom Limb is a straightforward, bouncy rocker telling the tale of a relationship imploding due to jealousy and paranoia in the style of a 30's horror movie.more

Your Ghosts
This is the final track from the Hertz Horn EP, Sentinels. I really enjoyed writing and recording it as there's quite a lot going on and it was challenging. It also seems to be a polarising song as it's either people's favourite or their least favourite on the EP!more
