From an early age, Maddy Joy was found singing and memorising all the lyrics of artists such as Elvis Presley, ABBA and the Jackson 5. Following into her teenage years, Maddy began to invest her time in to the art of musical theatre. Through her venture into theatre, Maddy discovered a love for performing and live singing where she would often playfully engage with the audience. During this time, Maddy also took songwriting classes where she began to experiment with different writing styles and genres, including storytelling and romance. As she continues to develop her writing abilities, Maddy uses her guitar and vocals to connect with other people and express feelings words alone can't embody. Her first release "Stay Here," allowed Maddy Joy to explore and find her sound within the music world, taking inspiration from other Australian singer-songwriters such as Vance Joy.
