I grew up in Connecticut playing fife and drum music since age five but soon began playing guitar and organ also. After leaving home at seventeen I eventually wound up in Tennessee where I learned how to play bluegrass guitar and fiddle at the opry, but mostly played fiddle with local country western groups and a guitar player that sang old Mississippi delta blues. Privately I was playing jazz fusion and hard rock. I left Tennessee and found myself playing more elaborate rock/jazz/blues type music while trying to write songs based on complex chord progressions that had been nothing but frustrating. After relocating to Virginia I started recalling some of the music I played back at the opry and started experimenting with those basic chord progressions. I grabbed a pen and started scribbling words and rhymes that seemed to fit bluegrass style. Bluegrass - who knew? Which brings me to now - I hope you enjoy my tunes as much as I did making them!
