Guitarist, singer, songwriter and father of four - working out of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, UK. I want these songs to tell you stories you haven't heard, but which always seem familiar. The giants whose shoulders I (try to) stand on are Sting, Peter Gabriel, Crowded House and Kate Bush. Started out on the piano when I was 4 and loved it. Had to be pulled off it at meal times - then some family friends brought a truly awful guitar back from a holiday in Spain (there's a song right there) and a whole new world opened up. I took lessons with one Mr Charlie Barker in Lincoln, the school woodwork teacher and a _wicked_ rag player, so that's where the finger-style all begins. First thing Charlie said was, 'You need a proper guitar'. If you're out there, Charlie, thank you :-). I still can't help lapsing into 1930s mode when I pick up an acoustic. Look out for a song called Ashes and Alcohol coming soon.
Thanks for stopping by
