Flatline (The Pulses Ebb)
This is a deeply personal song inspired by the memory of accompanying my mom in the ICU during her final moments. It captures the cold, sterile atmosphere of the hospital room—the white sheets, humming machines, plastic tubes, and the fading rhythm of the heart monitor.
The song reflects the moment when the doctor told me that these might be my mom’s last hours. As I stood beside her, watching, waiting, and trying to remain present, every sound in the room seemed to carry the weight of an approaching goodbye. Through haunting imagery and a melancholic atmosphere, the song preserves the fear, helplessness, love, and sorrow of witnessing someone slowly slip away.
More than a song about death, it is a memory of staying beside my mom until the end—a final act of love, companionship, and farewell.
