Minimalist, emotional, and true to the essence of the poetry—this is not about studio polish, but pure connection. It roughly translates to: When there was nothing, there was God. Had there been nothing, God would have still existed. It was the act of existing that drowned me — had I not existed, what would have happened? When I became so numb to sorrow, then what weight remains in the pain of even beheading? Had my body not been separated from my soul, it might have simply lain crushed beneath my feet. It’s been ages, Ghalib (poet), since I died — and yet, I still remember. At every turn, I used to say: “Had it happened this way… what might have been?”more
