I was walking alongside my friend, when he took a call from his Grandma, ending it with 'I love you.' A couple of seconds later, he turned to me and asked 'Is it weird to say I love you?' (in the context of ending a phone call.) I saw this as a golden song idea, came home, and wrote this song about a completely fictional relationship. 2 years later, it is being released.
