=====================================
Hi everyone... it's Lukan.
I don't know if you've ever had someone like that in your life. Someone you were never really with... but somehow never completely without either.
This song came from that feeling.
It's about two people who keep crossing paths for years, always close enough to imagine what could have been... but never at the right moment. Every time one of them is finally becomes available, the other has already built a life with someone else.
And that's what makes this story so strange. Those relationships were real. They weren't second choices or placeholders. We genuinely loved those people, and they genuinely loved us back. We gave them our hearts honestly... yet somehow, a small part of us never stopped wondering what might have happened if, just once, life had gotten the timing right.
Sometimes I wonder if the problem was never us. Maybe we simply fell in love too easily to stay alone long enough for life to finally bring us together at the same time.
I think a lot more people have lived this story than they're willing to admit.
This song is called "The Wrong Time." I hope you'll hear a little bit of your own story in it.
=====================================
[VERSE]
You wore a ring by the blue light glow
Standing beside someone I came to know
He kept your world from falling apart
So I stayed silent and played my part
I could've chased what I couldn't claim
Could've turned love into a selfish game
But some stars shine in another sky
And loving you meant letting you fly
[PRE-CHORUS]
We were two trains passing through the rain
Close enough to see, too far to change
Every year we circled back again
Only to miss by an inch again
[CHORUS]
Every time your heart is finally ready for me
Mine is holding on too tight
Every time the stars are there at night
Yours shine for someone other than me
We are both too full of love
To make room for the plan coming from above
So we keep giving our hearts away, not a crime
To the wrong hands, or rather, the wrong time
[VERSE]
Then you were free but I wore her name
An attorney's love and a steady flame
She fought for me when the world turned cold
She gave me shelter, she gave me hope
I loved her truly, every word was real
That's what makes this harder to feel
Because somewhere under the life I knew
A small part of me still carried you
[PRE-CHORUS]
We were two clocks out of sync somehow
Always tomorrow or yesterday now
Every road was a question mark
Every answer arrived too dark
[CHORUS]
Every time your heart is finally ready for me
Mine is holding on too tight
Every time the stars are there at night
Yours shine for someone other than me
We are both too full of love
To make room for the plan coming from above
So we keep giving our hearts away, not a crime
To the wrong hands, or rather, the wrong time
[VERSE]
When I was free you had moved away
An agent selling dreams day by day
Building addresses, changing views
While I was learning how to lose
Then years rolled by and your sky turned grey
Mine lit again in a different way
An angel in scrubs helped heal my scars
While you became another distant star
[BRIDGE]
And that's the part nobody ever knew
I loved them all and every feeling was true
But through every life that I wandered through
Some quiet road kept leading back to you
Maybe I'm wrong
Maybe it's only me
Maybe you're somewhere
Never thinking of me
But maybe that's the cruelest truth
You and I were mirrors too
Too in love with love itself
To leave an empty room
Every time life gave us space
We filled it before the dust could fall
Maybe we were not star crossed
Maybe we just feared the pause
You never waited long for me
I never waited long for you
The only thing we never tried
Was letting loneliness come through
[FINAL CHORUS]
Every time your heart is finally ready for me
Mine is holding on too tight
Every time the stars are there at night
Yours shine for someone other than me
We are both too full of love
To make room for the plan coming from above
So we keep giving our hearts away, not a crime
To the wrong hands, or rather, the wrong timemore
