“The Face Behind Me” is a cinematic Indie Pop / Alt Pop song inspired by a Japanese children’s rhyme, “Ushiro no shoumen dare”, which translates to “Who’s behind you?”. The phrase points to a playful yet unsettling idea: what we can’t see may be closer than we think — a hidden self, a quiet truth, or an unseen observer. Set to a slow, relaxed tempo with a minimal, atmospheric arrangement, restrained female vocals create an intimate and reflective mood. Using images of rumors, headlines, and scripted realities, the song gently explores how perception is shaped in the modern world. Instead of shouting its message, the truth lingers softly, just out of sight.more
