A triptych of electronic moods, tied together by the sound of the waves lapping against the shore at Sizewell in Suffolk, and contrasting the beauty and serenity of nature with the awe-inspiring yet ominous grandeur of nuclear power.
The photograph in the album artwork was taken from the shore at Sizewell looking out towards the sea at dusk, shortly after I recorded the sound of the waves as heard on this track, while on holiday in East Anglia with my partner.
The first section, "Sizewell A", is very much inspired by Jean-Michel Jarre (specifically Equinoxe Part 1); although I don't own an Eminent 310 Unique, I did find some excellent samples of one online.
The middle section, "Sizewell B", is a short improvisation I recorded using my Yamaha TG77 and Kawai K5000S synthesizers.
The final section, "Sizewell C", was recorded using my Roland Alpha Juno 1, Kawai K5000S, Yamaha TG77 and Roland JV-1080.more
