Dr. Seuss hit the nail on the head in "Oh, the Places You'll Go" when he wrote about what it's like when you are in the "waiting place." Not knowing an answer whether positive or negative about a situation can be torturous... if you have ever found yourself struggling with depression or anxious about a situation, this song is for you to remind you that it's always summer somewhere and that the mental winter you are in WILL fade away... so hold on for that day!more

This song was inspired by hearing the actor, Jim Carrey, describe the moment that he and many others thought that they were all about to die in a missile attack while in Hawaii in January 2018. He thought that he had ten minutes left to live and chose to spend his final moments making a list of things for which he was grateful. Of course, the missile alert turned out to be a false alarm, but that moment seems to have left a lasting impression on him. I took the lyrical idea of turning T.S. Eliot's famous ending of "The Hollow Men" on its head and giving a different perspective. I am typing this during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and there are probably more than a handful of people who are concerned that life as we know it is ending... if it is or isn't is likely out of our control... but how we choose to use the time we are given is everything.more
