Indy Singer Songwriter, composer and instrumentalist, Gavan Waldby has had a diverse career in Brisbane Australia. Ranging from the Alan Brown Big Band to 15 years in his Musical comedy duo Chalk and Cheese, he has covered a lot of musical territory. Several years ago he decided he needed to be in the recording studio. “I realised I had my own music playing in my head and I wasn’t listening to it! I started with two instrumentals “My Waltz for You” and “Waltzing Matilda”. Then the lyrics started to come to me which led to “From The Machine” sung by Tara Neilsen, a song about how technology rules our lives. The next song was “Looking Back” which was inspired by the music of Kate Miller Heidke. " He followed up with "Did You Ever" an acoustic guitar based song about repairing a broken friendship. In 2020 his fan base increased dramatically and he gained more exposure and started to make some of the bigger artists playlists.
