This song includes positive affirmations everyone may need to hear from time to time. Here you'll find a heartfelt reflection on the journey of self acceptance and a deeper understanding of our inherent self worth.
Personally, I've struggled with the pressure to prove my worth through performance and achievement, which led to anxiety and at times, crippling self doubt.
However, through regular therapy and prayer, I've come to realize that my self worth remains constant.
My identity as a child of God is rooted in love and has unfathomable infinite value.
I believe through the continuous healing power of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, all who turn to the Lord will be healed; this includes the unseen wounds of the mind.
While my self esteem may waiver occasionally, who I am remains secure and unchanged.
"Homerun" is dedicated to inspiring all listeners to adopt the perspective that recognizing personal worth and potential are inherent and unchanging.
I hope my message is clear: worth isn't tied to success or failure, and one doesn't need to prove anything to deserve love or belonging. I hope the lyrics resonate with you as a powerful reminder to show up, take chances, and embrace your true self without fear of striking out.
I am enough.
You are enough.
We are not alone.
We are loved.
This song is dedicated to my incredible wife and best friend, Katie Shomler. Without her I would not be the man I am today, nor could I have been capable of writing lyrics of such deep personal reflection and magnitude. I am so blessed to have such a talented, intelligent, create and beautiful woman by my side. She offers constant encouragement and support in every aspect of my life. I am eternally grateful for her love, patience, and companionship. Katie, when life has us down 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning, with bases loaded, and 2 outs on a 0-2 count, you are the batter hitting the walk off grand slam for the win. Katie, I love you. Thank you for everything you bring into my life.
Speaking of things my wife brought into my life, this song is also dedicated to the entire cast and crew of One Eleven Theatre Company's recent production of The New Broadway Musical: Anastasia. You all inspired me to write this song, and probably didn't even realize it. I wrote almost all of these lyrics at rehearsals or in between scenes. I discovered so much about myself over the course of that show, and I will cherish the time we spent together forever. There are too many names to mention. Those who know, know who they are. So instead, I'll simply say, thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything.
Ladies and gentlemen, I now present, the first single this year from Midnight Atmosphere, "Homerun".
Enjoy.
