Born in 1982, in the city of Guantánamo, Cuba, Lorenzo Maceo (Maceo Sax) began to be interested in music at an early age, at the age of 8, influenced by his family and Cuban music bands. He began his musical studies at the Vocational School of Arts, after having undergone a rigorous selection, he is thus ranked first in the list of aspirants. Several years later, he performed at various conservatories in the country, being accepted at the “José Maria Ochoa” Conservatory in the province of Holguín, Cuba. At the Conservatory he continues to perfect his musical growth. He began to gain professional experience as a singer, composer, soloist, instrumentalist and saxophone teacher. He concluded his studies at the conservatory in 2001. From the beginning, he already felt the need to compose his own music, and that's when he found the opportunity in Havana City. Currently working on major musical projects in Portuguese culture, as well as teaching saxophone in music schools.
