Skunkweed formed in 1996. We write songs that offend and delight the masses. From San Antonio Texas the band was formed after a chance encounter. All members were winners of a radio contest. To win the prize of a two day rafting trip, contestants had to write and record and send in a song using certain catch phrases provided by the radio hosts Lisle and Hahn of the 99.5 KISS morning show. They chose 5 winners to go on this trip. All of the winners were musicians. We met on this trip and said let's form a band. We do not adhere to any particular genre. We have songs that sound Country, Rock, Reggae, Rap, Folk, Funk and other. But the main theme that is always true to the Skunkweed nature is the comedic nature of the songs. We sing about big booty women and getting wasted. we have a couple of racially charged humorous songs pointing out the absurdity of racism. We are made up of a black guy and Mexican guy and redneck a hippy and a female fiddle player of the Asian persuasion.
