Velvet Divergence is a Miami based singer/ songwriter pulling inspiration from various genres such as pop, electronic, and post punk. "To explain my name, as long as I can remembered I've been treated as other by those around me, whether I wanted it or not, I've diverged from peoples expectations in life and in art. I've struggled with it, then came to appreciate it, then struggled with it some more. But ultimately I am thankful for it, because art gives me the chance to turn my differences into something beautiful, which is where the velvet part of the name comes from. And it's a means of authentically connecting with the world around me. I see my songs as portraits of emotions I once experienced. These experiences through music can be revisited, or shared with others, which is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have in itself. I love that someone who may not understand or even like me could still relate to a song I write."
