My real name is Gabriel but I go by Brilly Asher, and I was born in Jacksonville & raised in Tampa, Florida. The name came from my mom always calling me 'Brilly Boy', in which almost my whole life I never knew why. Asher is my natural middle name, so bringing both together after SO many previous names just seemed to fit perfectly. In my later years I figured 'Brilly' came from her making a nickname out of 'Briel' in my first name, but I didn't put two and two together until years after her death, which is the reason I create music. I don't create music to just 'kill' a beat or to show I'm the best lyrically; all of that will come naturally. I simply create music that people can resonate with in their SOUL, not just their ears. When my mother passed at 12 years old, I went through such a dark depression that only music and God were able to pull me out. So now, through my music, I want to help as many people as I can, the same way God & music helped me.
