FOLK SPIRIT blends traditional instruments, fresh beats, and eight musicians striving to honor and contribute to the evolution of Moroccan and Berber music. The group finds inspiration for the music in human experiences and struggles felt in their native Berber communities and all over the world. The lyrics and songs are a manifestation of this inspiration. In this way, their music transcends their country’s borders to find a common spirit for people all over the world, no matter their ethnicity, race, religion, or spoken language. FOLK SPIRIT was created in 2019 in Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Morocco. Some of the group’s members have known each other for years. Others traveled to this area of Southern Morocco to meet other like-minded artists.
