I wrote this song in 8th grade and had no plan on releasing it. That was until the person I wrote it about came to see a show that I was performing in, and I knew that I had to add onto the story. Therefore, I rewrote the whole second verse in order to tell both stories in one song. I wanted to make sure the song sounded like a ballad, as it is one of the slower songs off of my new EP "Curtain Call," yet have an electronic sound to match the social media theme. I wanted to write a song that sounded kinda campy and also played a slight homage to early 2000s pop icons, like Britney Spears. I really loved the production on this because it makes you dance, and it reminded me of a Target commercial that would be played around the back-to-school season. Lastly, this song empowers me SO much, and I hope that others can think of the one person who makes them feel like trash. Deny the way they think of you and sparkle just like the glitter you are.more
