Growing up in Atlanta suburbs, MysMyx had a difficult childhood. The oldest of 3 sisters with an absent and addict mother, she worked 2 jobs during high school to help pay bills and take care of her younger siblings. After graduating with a 4.2 GPA, she was given an academic scholarship to the University of Georgia where she maintained a 3.7 GPA and studied early childhood development. She cut ties with her mother at 21 and prioritized her younger sisters who were put in foster care 2 years after she left for college. This put her in a deep depression she refused to acknowledge. In 2015, despite doctors telling her children were not possible, she had her son who gave her new purpose. She started writing at 19 to help her get through childhood trauma and the battles she fought for years. It became her therapy and she finally decided to share it with the world to maybe help others struggling to get through difficult situations. “This world doesn’t owe you anything, especially not love.”
