Lower Your Gaze
This one is completely outside my usual writing style, and honestly, I never imagined I'd write a song quite like this. What started as an unexpected encounter and a fascinating conversation with one of my peers turned into something neither of us could have anticipated. On the surface, it's a story of attraction, temptation, desire, and a dangerous little game. But beneath the lyrics, there are layers of survival, resilience, spirituality, and the mysterious ways the universe sometimes speaks to us. Or maybe it's none of those things. I've already heard several very different interpretations, and that's what makes this one so interesting. Sometimes what we hear in a song says as much about our own experiences as it does about the story being told. Dedicated to Alyssa, whose curiosity about one peculiar little encounter inspired something wonderfully unexpected. Listen closely. Draw your own conclusions. Just remember... things aren't always what they seem. 😉more

Rest Your Neck
Things have been a bit heavy lately, and when things get heavy in my world, I write. I know people are listening to my music, and I truly appreciate every person who has listened, shared it, or passed one of my songs along. ❤️ Every song I’ve written began with a true story. This one is no different. “Rest Your Neck” was written in response to the dehumanization, indifference, and abuse of power that can exist inside correctional institutions, and the devastating weight that words can carry. At the center of this song is a man who wanted his PIN so he could call his mom. That’s it. One PIN. One call. One voice from home. Maybe it would have been just another phone call. Maybe it was his lifeline. This song is about that moment, but it’s also about something much bigger. It’s about dignity. Accountability. Constitutional rights. Human connection. And the fact that incarceration does not erase someone’s humanity. Words matter. How we treat people matters. And sometimes, some words last forever. #RestYourNeck #AMITA #PrisonReform #HumanRights #Incarceration #CriminalJustice #MentalHealth #PeerSupportmore

Mercy By Roulette
Every song I write starts with a real story. Mercy By Roulette asks a simple question: If people are capable of change, how should we recognize it? It's a song about hope, redemption, and the uncertainty that many people experience when asking for a second chance. Thanks for listening. — Amitamore
